It's funny how a camera can change the way you see things. A couple of years ago I wouldn't have looked twice at this tree, it was just another object on an otherwise long stretch of boring shoreline.
This was the very first image I created on my Peninsula trip, and a great opportunity to break out the 9-stop ND filter. As soon as I saw this tree the image came to mind and all I needed was a parking spot, luckily I found one about 1/4 mile up the road. With the tripod legs splayed all the way out I found the right exposure without the filter, then did some math, put the filter on and came out with this image.
